Whether you are new to riding in large groups or just new to TBN, we want to help you get more comfortable. These Zoom lls will be put on once a month. We'll try and provide the information you need to make your rides that much more rewarding.

Still in need of amabassadors and marshals for Bike for brain health - june 5

We are still looking for people to help out as ride and ambassadors and marshals for Bike for Brain Health along the Gardiner and the Don Valley Parkway on June 5. TBN has assisted with similar rides along this route in years gone by and participants have given the experience a big thumbs up.

Please help out TBN and the Baycrest Foundation make the first ever Mattamy Homes Bike for Brain Health a big success. Our goal with this event is to raise money and awareness in the effort to defeat dementia.

While the ride begins at 6:00 AM we will need ambassadors and marshals at staggered times throughout the morning.

Parking and a food tent will be available free of charge to volunteers so please help out by signing up for a rewarding and heart warming experience.

        Thank you

Let's Celebrate - Spring Kick Off was a Huge Success

Thanks to everyone who me out to the 2022 Spring Kick Off in Etiene Brule Park. But an especially big thank you to the members who helped with set up and take down, and those of you who acted as ride leaders and sweeps. We need everyone of you. You're the ones who make TBN the roaring success that it is.

The organizing has taken note of those items that seemed to be most popular: muffins, bagels, bananas and cheese all "sold" well. Meanwhile, cookies and granola bars were great take away treats for those peckish moments at the top of the hill (however tall that hill might be - you made it, you deserve it).

Here's looking forward to many more live, in-person events in the months and years to come. Ride on.

        Become a Ride Ambassador

Do you want the chance to help other cyclists and to meet new people? All while enjoying a ride with your TBN friends? The ones you haven’t seen for a while as we begin to get out again on roads and routes across the GTA?

TBN is still looking for Ride Ambassadors for a number of our regular rides:

Right now, we need the most help with Urban Rollers and Tourist. So if either of these are a ride you've done often and you're ready to help out a bit more, let us know.

If you have not signed up yet but would like to help, or if you have any questions about the new Ride Ambassadors program, please email Alice at Experience@ or Dennis at Touring@.

Come and join us. We’d love to see you. And we really could use your help.

How To Fix Your Flats - Zoom Edution Session Now on youtube

TBN Edution Director, Andrew Patterson, offered a Zoom session on fixing your flat. That has now been converted into a YouTube to watch and share with your friends. Watch it now now and learn what to do when the unexpected happens to you. That's a heck of a lot easier than trying to watch while you're on the side of the road, in the rain (of course) trying to fix the flat you never expected to have happen.

        Event registration process to Continue

TBN's event registration system was developed in 2020 to comply with provincial COVID regulations. While the province has announced that it will soon remove restrictions on public gatherings, TBN has decided to retain the registration system.

For ongoing safety reasons there are still some events where event leaders need to limit group size. And if only some events had registrations, we felt certain that these differences would prove to be inconsistent and confusing. To avoid that, we have decided to retain registrations on all events.

Knowing the size of an event ahead of time helps us to manage it better. For example, particularly large rides often need additional sweeps. Registrations also help TBN understand what events are most popular and help us design or modify programs going forward.

Event limits are set by the event leaders and some events have limits set so high that they effectively allow for unlimited participation. Even so, registration is still required - every time.

Even non-members n participate by registering and paying a small fee before the particular event.

Sewer work scheduled at Etienne Brule Park

A word of warning to our Humber River riders: The city of Toronto is planning work to replace a major sewer pipe in the area, which may use some inconvenience. The work is scheduled to run until 2022, alas.

        TBN has a Strava club

Now's the time to join TBN's Strava TBN club, where you n share your rides with fellow club members and see who's fastest on the hills. TBN routes: one of our most prized assets

You asked for a library of TBN routes. We listened. A new work-in-progress page offers a convenient way to find some of our routes, with links to rides mapped through RideWithGPS. We have over 1,000 routes in total, including many duplites and obsolete routes, so this will become an easier way to find a specific ride than by backtracking to RideWithGPS in our online lendar. Check it out.
